If you've updated from Opus 9 to Opus 10, but you're still seeing the old "9" icon on your desktop or taskbar, that's a bug in Windows itself.
You can fix it quickly and easily by running my Clear Icon Cache tool.
The tool isn't specific to Opus and may also solve other situations where Windows shows wrong or missing icons.
We'll have more Opus 10 news in the coming days, so stay tuned...

So, how do we fix it on XP? Why doesn't the installer fix it automatically?
You can use Microsoft's TweakUI tool to clear the icon cache if you see a similar problem on XP.
I'm not sure it would make sense to have the Opus installer clear the Windows icon cache in a way which is dependent on the version of Windows in use and which may be inappropriate with future versions of Windows.
I think the real question is why Windows has such a bad icon-caching algorithm in the first place. Opus isn't the only program to have this problem; far from it.
