Directory Opus 10.5.0.0 is now available as a free update for all Directory Opus 10 users.

Evaluation period reset:
- If you have been test-driving Directory Opus 10.2 or earlier and your 60-day evaluation has run out, you can request a new 60-day evaluation for Directory Opus 10.5 to see what's new.
- If you're currently using an Opus 10.2 or earlier evaluation certificate then you'll need a new 10.5 evaluation certificate as the old eval cert won't work with the new version (it will say the old cert has expired). You'll get a full 60-day period from the new cert.
- If you've purchased Opus 10 already then you don't need to do anything. Your existing certificate will continue to work with all 10.x versions and never expires.
What's new:
The 10.5.0.0 update includes everything from the 10.2.0.x beta versions:(The help file contains a summary of all these changes in one place and will be displayed the first time you run the new version.)
- 10.2.0.1 (59 changes)
- 10.2.0.2 (35 changes)
- 10.2.0.3 (15 changes)
- 10.2.0.4 (9 changes)
- 10.2.0.5 (17 changes)
- 10.2.0.6 (16 changes)
- 10.2.0.7 (18 changes)
- 10.2.0.8 (12 changes)
- 10.2.0.9 (8 changes)
- Setting a folder to the Music type did not give it a CD Cover thumbnail when shell folder thumbs were enabled.
- Go TABGROUPLIST did not support the new tab group folders feature
- Fixed a Print button placed on the toolbar not enabling/disabling correctly when changing folders
- MTP - Split dialog showed internal filename for MTP files
- MTP - fix non-file objects from appearing in the directory
- MTP - the GetSizes command would stop after the first folder
- GetSizes progress dialog no longer shows internal names for libraries/MTP

Is this the gold release of 10.2, but now names 10.5?

The version numbering scheme for beta and stable releases is explained here:

Okay, I knew the the previous versions (10.2.0.1 to 10.2.0.9) were betas, but I am trying to figure out what happened to 10.3? Did you guys just skip over 10.3 and 10.4 then go straight to 10.5? I guess that is my question in another form.
Regards,
Mark
Yes. It's not unusual. :-)
New version is great! Thanks a lot!
I tried a previously version prior to this, and it has since expired. I requested a new trial license to see how this new version was, but it gives "Your evaluation period has expired. (2001A)" error, and does not accept the new license key that was emailed to me. Is this a bug, or am I doing something wrong? Thanks
The only situation I know of where 10.5 would reject a brand new eval certificate is when a "trial reset" hack has been tried in the past.
If Opus detects that then it will block all further eval certificates on the same machine. (Purchased certificates will still work.)
Cannot install the 10.5 version on windows 7, I get an error in the windows application log (see below)
Any idea if this is a known problem?
Thanks,
Andre.

"TCAHookDll32.dll" is the key piece of information there.
That suggests some component is hooking every other process, and the hook is crashing.
I don't know what TCAHookDll32.dll is, but searching for it finds a lot of other reports about it crashing other programs, so it looks like something you wouldn't want to have on your system.
A video guide to the new release will be available shortly, and will be announced here and on the forum.

The video is coming. :)
Opus will not accept newest update [again]. I had that problem with the last update and had to download program and install again. I have tried that procedure twice this time and my version still reads 10.0.5.0.4497.x64. Not only can't I update, the very, very annoying reminder pops up after each re-boot.
Terry,
Please start a thread on our support forum with details of:
- Which steps you're taking (e.g. whether you're using the auto-updater or downloading the installer from the website).
- What goes wrong (any error messages or other details).
From there, we'll do our best to get to the bottom of the problem.
